About Horizon Enova News

Horizon Enova News reports on business, politics, technology, culture, and sport across Africa and its global diaspora — for readers who live the connection between the two every day.

Why we exist

Most coverage of Africa written for a diaspora audience treats the continent and the diaspora as two separate stories — one covering "home," the other covering "abroad." We think that's the wrong frame. A fintech corridor between Lagos and Houston, a diaspora bond oversubscribed by buyers in London and Accra, a second-generation founder relocating capital rather than just remittances — these aren't two stories. They're one story, and it's the one we're built to cover.

What we cover

Seven desks, each with a dedicated section: Business & Markets, Politics, Technology, Culture & Entertainment, Sports, Diaspora, and Opinion. Every story is written to be useful to a reader making a real decision — where to invest, what to watch, what's actually changing — not just interesting to skim.

Editorial independence

Horizon Enova News is a title of the Horizon Enova Group, operated with independent editorial judgment. Business decisions made elsewhere in the group don't determine what we cover or how we cover it. See our Editorial Standards for more on how we source and correct our work — including how AI-assisted drafting fits into our process, disclosed plainly rather than left ambiguous.

Where we're headed

We're early. The newsroom you're reading was built to scale — with a real editorial review pipeline, a growing set of desks, and coverage that gets more specific as our reporting relationships deepen across the continent and the diaspora. If that's a newsroom you want to be part of, see Careers.
